Emergency Management
- check this link to learn more about our efforts to identify and mitigate hazards on the Umatilla Indian Reservation.
The Tribal Emergency Response Commission (TERC) is preparing a plan that tries to anticipate damage from possible natural and man-made hazards, and then, identifies activities or projects that will prevent or reduce damage and make the Reservation more disaster resistant. Once completed, the hazard mitigation plan will make the Tribe eligible for federal grants through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). WE NEED YOUR HELP!Please help us make the Reservation a safer place to live by taking this brief survey. The purpose of this survey is two-fold. First, we are trying to identify places on or near the Reservation that if damaged or destroyed would be detrimental to the Tribes economy, culture, environmental well-being, health, safety and welfare. Second, we need to determine which hazardous event present the greatest threat to the Reservation. Information from this survey will help the TERC in preparing protection strategies and specific hazard mitigation measures where they will do the most good.
